ExYoMKE Bees on Exhibit at Vel Phillips Juvenile Justice Center!

October 6, 2018

You may have heard of the Japanese legend that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish from the gods. Inspired by that, we set about creating 1,000 bees — block prints created by incarcerated youth at Lincoln Hills/Copper Lake and at MCAP (Milwaukee County Accountability Program) — to draw attention to our wish to change the climate of mass incarceration and racial inequity in our community.

Started in 2017, the bees are now on exhibit at the Vel Phillips Juvenile Justice Center.
